Here’s an overview of how much money you can accept with Zettle by PayPal every day. These limits depend on how payments are accepted, e.g. whether your customer enters a PIN, uses swipe and sign, or contactless.
Increased contactless limits
Major card networks have raised the contactless card limit to £100 (from £30-£45). This means your customers can simply tap their card or device when they want to pay for any amount up to £100.
Chip and PIN (incl. contactless):
£500,000 limit per 24 hours.
£5,000 limit per card and transaction.
Chip & signature:
£200,000 limit per 24 hours.
£2,500 limit per card and transaction.
Magnetic stripe & signature:
£200,000 limit per 24 hours.
£2,500 limit per card and transaction.
