Accepted cards with the Zettle Reader and Zettle Terminal
List of card issuers
- American Express
- Diners Club
- Visa Electron
- V pay
The Zettle Reader, Reader 2 and Terminal allow you to accept contactless and card payments as well as transactions with mobile wallets such as Apple, Samsung and Google Pay.
Magnetic Stripe transactions
The Zettle Reader 2 and Zettle Terminal do not accept magnetic stripe cards. This functionality was removed for security reasons and helps keep businesses safe by decreasing the chance of fraudulent transactions. Chip and PIN and contactless transactions are a much safer form of accepting credit cards.
Collecting signatures for payments
Card companies no longer require signatures to be captured for chip and contactless payments in most Zettle markets (including US and European markets). To simplify checkout experiences, you no longer need to collect signatures for in-store payments.
Cost and fees:
For card (and contactless) payments, you’ll be charged a fixed transaction fee of 1.75%, regardless of which card you process with your Zettle card machine. Read more about pricing here.
