Setting a default VAT rate
Sign in to your account on my.zettle.com and click on > Account & settings > General account settings. Then go to VAT settings and select the default VAT rate from the dropdown menu.
Whatever you select becomes the VAT rate for all the products added to your product library in the future. It’ll also be the VAT rate applied to purchases made by typing in a custom amount at checkout.
How can I set different VAT rates?
If you have products that require a different VAT rate than the default, you can manually change the VAT rates of products in the product details.
On my.zettle.com
- Click on Products > Product library and select a product.
- Go to Details and change the VAT rate there.
In the Zettle app
- Tap Sell to access your Product library.
- Tap on a product and hold until you get to Edit product.
- Go to Details and change the VAT rate there.
Can I change VAT rates in bulk?
Good to know: Bulk editing of VAT rates only applies to variants of a single product, not multiple products.

- Click the Edit product icon.
- Open the dropdown menu and change the VAT rate for all variants.
In the Zettle app
- Tap Sell to access your Product library
- Tap on a product with variants and hold until you get to Edit product.
- Go to Details and change the VAT rate there.
